The Centre for Tourism and Hospitality Training and Research has been established with the objective of training local youth in hands-on skills required for the tourism and hospitality industry. The Centre aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements by offering specialized certificate courses.

The flagship programs include:

1. Six-Month Certificate Course in Hotel Management
This course provides practical exposure and industry-relevant training essential for success in the tourism, hospitality, and catering service sectors. Conducted by qualified and experienced faculty with strong industry backgrounds, the course combines theory and practical sessions designed to build a solid foundation in hotel management and culinary skills. Classes commence in July, and students undergo structured rotations to gain real-time industry experience. On successful completion, students become competent to work in various sectors of hotel and hospitality management.

2. Six-Month Certificate Course in Tourist Guiding
This course offers students insights into the travel trade and equips them with knowledge and skills required to work as professional tourist guides or tour executives.

Career Opportunities

Upon completion of the certificate courses, students can pursue careers in:

· Five-star hotels, resorts, restaurants, cruise liners, and highway midways.

· Bakeries, flight kitchens, airlines, and airport lounges.

· Canteens, corporate food service areas, and lounges of multinational companies.

· Commercial catering and food service in fast-food outlets.
